Current Scenario: Colleges in semi-urban and rural parts are often limited with exposure, latest opportunities and expertise to mentor students to live a life they are passionate about. Considering this, Insight Walk Career Pathway service aims to bridge this gap by designing a contextualised pathway for every student completely on the grounds of what student is passionate about, interests and skills.
Designing the pathway: Pathways are very carefully co-designed by the diverse set of people including the subscriber of the service. Student preferences are taken into consideration at all the stages of design. Once the framework is ready, mentor discusses the prototype with the student for the final changes and then we are good to go!
An example: A second-year computer science engineering student, who loves coding and is passionate about entrepreneurship, subscribe for the service. After subscription, a mentor with similar interests/background is assigned to the subscriber. Both, the student and the mentor then have rounds of discussion over phone calls, emails or Skype to better understand interests, skills and passions of the student. At this point, the mentor might also conduct a test to identify core skills and strengths of the student. This test is usually online.
Then comes the designing aspect! Again, both of them along with our team at backend co-design a pathway with necessary elements and set a timeline. The design might look something like this:
Books and magazines
Articles and blogs
College fests, conferences, summits
Tests to identify key skills and strengths
While the entire pathway is designed customized to the needs of the student, this is not the limiting list. Individual skill sets may vary and so do the elements in the design.
